People scoffed, but Noah believed God and survived the greatest catastrophe the world has ever known. Then possibly Noah & Moses added their parts to the Genesis saga which became known to the post Mesopotamian cultures prior to the construction of that infamous tower, hence begins the parallel writings of those cultures with the name of God (El) & our Biblical Old Testament Canon, the difference being that they introduced their embellishments which we today appropriately label mythology.
